Joel Taylor is a dedicated Mental Performance Coach committed to helping athletes unlock their potential by developing the mental skills needed to thrive on and off the field. With a coaching career spanning over two decades, including more than 15 years as a basketball coach at the college and university levels, Joel brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the mental challenges athletes will undoubtedly face during their journey.
Throughout his coaching career, Joel has guided individual athletes as well as multiple teams to consistent success. His approach is grounded in the belief that peak performance is about more than physical talent, it’s about cultivating resilience, confidence, and the power of a healthy mindset. By implementing healthy tools from performance anxiety and self-doubt to the everyday pressures that come with striving for greatness, Joel helps athletes develop the mental strategies to overcome obstacles and perform at their best when it matters most.
Joel is extremely well educated, with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, and master’s degrees in Leadership, as well as Sports Psychology. This educational foundation, combined with his extensive real-world coaching experience, allows him to bridge the gap between theory and practice, providing athletes with strategies that are both evidence-based and highly applicable.
Being passionate, empathetic, and results-driven, Joel’s mission is to empower athletes to compete with confidence, lead with purpose, and achieve their full potential, not just in sport, but in every area of life.
